I spent hours and hours setting up and tuning my HTPC and I realized that I had never documented everything. Recently, my windows xp install started having problems (would not play mp3's) and I knew it would need a fresh install soon which motivated me to put this together as documentation for myself and also to help others in my same position.

Soundblaster settings
Because my sound card has a dolby/dts decoder built in I have to turn it off in order to send the undecoded signal to my stereo receiver.
