I spent hours and hours setting up and tuning my HTPC and I realized that I had never documented everything. Recently, my windows xp install started having problems (would not play mp3's) and I knew it would need a fresh install soon which motivated me to put this together as documentation for myself and also to help others in my same position.

AC3 Filter
The settings below are the most important. The SPDIF pass through option sends the digital signal directly to my receiver for decoding.
